Amazing  Sucess!

I hiked this solo from the Lineham Falls trail. When I reached what I thought was the summit ridge I saw a 40-foot cliff blocking my way. I feared I wouldn't be able to reach the top, but after traversing along the base of the cliff I discovered the couloir that gives access to the summit.

It's a steep, challenging scramble. The views are amazing.

Finally  Sucess!

Finally found a couple people to do the Hawkins horseshoe with; Ken W and Russ. It's a steep climb up the SE face. The approach took 1 hour. and the scramble up took 2.5 hours (or a bit less). Another 1 hour 40 mins to Hawkins, followed by an hour 50 mins to Lineham, and two hours back to the Lineham trailhead (including 0.8 miles walking on the road).

Solo Hawkins Horseshoe  Sucess!

Solo’ed the Hawkins Horseshoe on a beautiful summer day. Had the entire route to myself as well. Standard route, up Mt. Blakiston, head west/southwest to Mt. Hawkins, then the horseshoe turn back east to Mt. Lineham. All in about 8 hours.
