West to east from the golf course  Sucess!

In about 2000 I completed the traverse west to east. I started from the Banff Springs golf course, climbed "The Ridge of Death (5.5)" which joins "The Rundlehorn", then followed the ridge up to and over the exposed ridge just west of Peak 11 to said Peak 11. From there I followed basically the route described by Don Williams (but in the opposite direction of course). I soloed the route with minimal gear. I took a homemade harness, a couple of pitons, about three stoppers and slings, and a 25m (yes, only 25m) rope. I rope downclimbed a short step off Peak 11, made one short rappel somewhere on the way to Peak 7, and downclimbed everything else, including the descent from Peak 7. I found the route to be quite reasonable but with some tricky route finding. Golf course to EEOR parking lot = 14 hours, including about 30 minutes looking for water and another 30 minutes waiting out a rain storm just before the Peak 7 descent. Year of ascent is approximate.

Too late in the season

Made it halfway up peak 7 but decided to bail along the creek bed back to the Goat Creek trail due to fading sunlight. Could've camped at the base of the peak but we did not have enough time for an additional day. Will return next year earlier in the season.

Finally...  Sucess!

all these years staring at just about the last local objective I had yet to do...good day out, fairly fast and furious solo attack, no harness, no rope....free and loving it...not near the obscure trip we have all heard about...pretty straight forward in the end...good luck with it.
