HP #20
First summit was a drive-up...Very crowded and cold, snowed the day before and road was closed to cars
Second summit I hiked along my AT thru hike in 2017...Got to summit early in nick of time before grey clouds set in..that mountain is moody!

Headbangers delight
Brushy, thick forest, all of us conked our heads at least once on tree limbs. Strenuous hike, tougher than the stats would indicate. Easy to get off route by following well-beaten migrant trails which go everywhere.

From Forest Road 61
We parked near the pass of forest road 61 and busted up the steep slopes to the north ridge. We essentially followed the ridge to Washington and also bagged Veteran's Peak (>400ft of prom.) along the way. Lots of up and down along the ridge and some brush to deal with. There is a use trail in parts.
Hiked with Tom, Hazel and Guy. This peak has a whopping 1709+ feet prominence, so pulls in the Prominentistas from near and far.
Only 5 miles away in Mexico lies 2K Sierra San Antonio.
Route Climbed: The North Ridge Date Climbed: September 25, 2005
Hiked Mt. Washington to Geocache GCMNJ5. Myriad casual trails criss-cross the wooded north ridge, so I managed to get a little off-track, but enjoyed the adventure.
