North ridge
An easy hike from Red Box. Recovering from a knee injury, I just started hiking again after almost three months of forced inactivity. Boy, you lose it fast! The dog enjoyed the walk. She does surprisingly well on the rocky parts. Got back to the car just as the clouds enshrouded Strawberry--rain is forecast for the afternoon.

Hiked this with Travis
I would not hike up the steep south ridge unless you want yucca up your arse! There are lots of yuccas along this portion of the trail. Do it as a loop and descend this section. Go early, most of the hike has very little shade, although there is a really nice shaded grove at the top to picnic or rest at before descending.

Up easy way down steep way
Hike up around, over and down the steep way. Nice Mountain, I enjoyed the descent. Got pricked by a yucca. Here the the track for Google Earth.

Third Time Up
I like going up the south slope, down the NW ridge, and over to Strawberry. You can make this a car shuttle ridge route from Barley Flats over to Josephine as well.

From Strawberry
Silly but fun weekend tagging a bunch of random HPS bumps with Bob. Not much in the way of climbing (or even scrambling), but pleasant all the same.

snake
Hiked up south slope firebreak, then down to saddle between Strawberry. This is a cool chain of peaks, but I think I like Josephine the best. Almost stepped on a baby rattlesnake on the way down, tucked into a handhold!

Traverse
From Strawberry Peak along the ridge, then down the South Ridge to Red Box Station. Part of a 13 peak marathon with Matthew. Trip Report

Makes a great two'fer
A great climb after work. Coming back from Strawberry over the top of Lawlor I got back just before Dusk. The yuccas on the south ridge are gnarly.

Numerous Climbs
I have climbed this peak numerous times, usually in combination with other nearby peaks. I enjoy taking the main northwest ridge up and the steep south ridge down.
