Summary
For eight years, one of the most significant rock formation in RNMP had stared us in the face every time we’ve ventured into Glacier Gorge, and yet, we’d never thought to venture onto its features. Primarily, our lack of attention was due to the very long approach, but in some way, its forbidding and committing look was also a deterrent.
One day, Brian says, “there’s a 5.8 route on Chiefs Head’s Northwest Face with a rap descent…you wanna try it?”
Heck yeah! Only 5.8, really? A rappel descent? Why haven’t we done it before now? And we can bag another Chiefs Head summit!
