An exploratory trip  Sucess!

More than a week earlier, I was hiking in the area. My primary goal then was to get used to the thin air at altitude and that worked out fine. On that occasion, I saw the snow capped summit ridge of Nevado Huarancante, but apart from my map, I had no other information about it.

Later, after climbing a couple of other volcanoes, I came back to explore the mountain. I brought enough supplies for four days, which gave me plenty of time to have a good look at it from different sides.
In the end, I climbed it by going up from the northeast to the central saddle, next to the (false) central summit. From the saddle I followed the SE ridge.
On my descent, from the saddle I traversed below the central summit, to point 5310 and beyond to Nevado Chucura.
