North Ridge, Grand Teton
With Brad from Laramie. Climbed the Full Exum and North Ridge about a week apart in an attempt to complete the 50 North American Classics as I near 60. I gave it 3 out of 5 stars. The Valhalla Traverse was not much fun by anyone's standards. But with global warming, no doubt somewhat safer than the Teton Glacier approach. The ridge was the easiest part of the day. We combined pitches to a total of 6. The main chimney in the center of the route is the crux of the climb. It all goes fast after you make the Grandstand.
