Wow...I have been at the summit of Box Elder when the mountain throws a shadow like that over a valley. I always wondered if someone standing near the peak of the shadow could see my shadow...probly not but that would be really cool.

Re: Way UpAlthough it is much higher than a cascade volcano, the vertical relief from the summit to the plains below is about the same as the vertical relief Mount Rainier has to the hills below it which is ~ 11,000 feet

Capturing the momentWhich you definitely did with this shot. You could almost tag this as the "one in a million" shot. This is one of the neatest, coolest pics I've seen in a long time. I remember a very similar scene as I climbed it as well but not nearly as pronounced. Thanks for sharing!
