although....
he no doubt attempts to put out a good product, my main gripe with an all encompassing book like this, is that it is easy for the author, if he/she is a climber, to have climbed everything they publish...since it is a selection of supposedly the better/classic climbs....this is not the case here (he has not climbed all these routes), and in fact he includes a route on Ha Ling that I know from first hand experience should not be included at this time. Dangerous to copy stuff out of old guide books, info and just re-publish it in my opinion and again, my biggest problem with it is that come on, if you are going to do a book in the format of Steck and Roper, "50 North American Classics", do it in the same tradition, climb everything you intend to put in it. I understand if it is an all encompassing book of one climbing area, than that is more difficult to accomplish and thus would not necessarily expect it.
