My thoughts
I really like this jacket because of the weight, packability, warmth and bomber construction. It holds its own against any of the other 100g/m2 synthetic jackets. It has only the basic features which I like and no unnecessary add-ons. The Epic fabric is very durable and practically waterproof in my experience. I use it during the dead of winter in the Sierra with only a R1 and a softshell on underneath at stops and I'm warm. The two-way zipper is nice when I'm belaying and the hood has no problem fitting over a helmet.
That being said, the drawbacks to the jacket that I've found are this:
The zipper can be hard to get started with gloves on because of the small tooth size. I got the model without a inner mesh pocket, so there's no place to store a water bottle or gloves. I believe this changed on later models, but I've also heard that this jacket may be discontinued as of 2011.
All in all a great jacket and worth the money, especially for the long life that you'll get out of it.
