On July 28 I tried to navigate a random solo route up from the North. My leg struck something and I ended up getting 7 stitches + a 4" open wound that couldn't be stitched up. I went back the following week and just took the trail to the top like normal people.
It was supposed to be a day with spot showers, clearing up later. The hike started out cool and overcast. As I hiked it got warmer and I shed some layers down to my t-shirt. However, when I reached the summit, the wind picked up, clouds descended, and it started snowing like crazy. I was well-prepared, and enjoyed the adventurous hike through blowing snow back to the car. It was a good reminder of how the weather can change in an instant in the mountains! Great little hike. I enjoyed it more than I thought I would.

The trail is great and easy to follow all the way to the top! 52 min. up, 44 down, on a beautiful if breezy fall day. Will have to return to this peak, both to hike/run, and to give climbing through the cliff band a try.

New Snow
The first measurable moisture in the ABQ area in over 78 days brought 3 inches of fluffy white stuff to the back side of the Sandias. Great hike, getting ready for a big climbing season over here.

Bushwhack up, Trail down
Wonderfully cool, overcast day. Checked out the cliffs and climbed up through a weakness, took the trail down.
