Tenmile Traverse
Summited around 1 p.m. as part of the Tenmile Traverse. Weather was deteriorating, so I spent about 30 seconds on the summit.
Also climbed 9/27/08 from Crystal and Peak 10. Picked our way down Peak 10's loose north ridge, then up the ridgeline to the summit of 9.

East Ridge via Breck
Skied up this peak from the Beaver Run resort on a quiet weekeday. Took me just over 3 hours from the base to the peak - one of my sturdier skinning efforts. Descended into the Windows via the NE face of the peak on pretty much bulletproof slab. I'm glad I learned to ski on the east coast!
Route Climbed: South Ridge from Peak 10 Date Climbed: 5 September, 2005
I started the morning by climbing Father Dyers Class 3 Northeast Ridge. From there I traversed over Crystal and Peak 10 before climbing Peak 9's South Ridge. I returned to the Spruce Creek TH via the Wheeler Trail.
Route Climbed: South Ridge from Peak 10 Date Climbed: June 23, 2002
After summiting Peak 10 by it's East Ridge route, rather than descending by the road to the large meadow between the peaks, I scrambled down 10' North ridge until I found the prominant snowfield along the Northeast Face (conditions of this are visible from Breckenridge). A steep glissade and I dropped 500 feet, before reaching the boulders at the snowfield's base. Then I traversed back toward the sadlle and easily ascended Peak 9. The descent was to the Southeast, intersecting the excellent Wheeler Trail. It would be easy to continue north from Peak 9 to Peak 8 for those desiring amother summit.

Tenmile TraversePart of the Tenmile Traverse... what a long but fun day! Mount Royal through Peak 10. 16.5 miles, 8100' gain, 15 hours.
This one was my mental crux... dropping off Peak 8 was demoralizing.

As part of Tenmile TraverseBy this point on the Tenmile Traverse, my legs were mush. I don't think I remember much from Peaks 8-10.... Man that was a good hike.
