Just to clear up any name-related confusion, Pika Peak is not also called Steam Mill Peak. Steam Mill Peak (9,282 ft) does exist, but is located 2 miles east of Pika Peak, above Hell's Kitchen Canyon.
Yes, that is also my understanding. But some local people do call it Steam Mill Peak (erroneously in my opinion). A prominent SP member told me it should be called that and the point labeld "Steam Mill Peak" on the map is mislabeled. The last statment of my intro section identifies the different thoughts, but states the name I believe correct is Pika Peak.

Pika PeakI have a locally printed guide book that gives this peak the name "Pika Peak."
