Pinnacle and The Castle  Sucess!

Scrambled up Pinnacle Peak and The Castle. Fun climbs and easy to get to, with a great view obviously. I'd guess Class 2 for Pinnacle.

Smoky Beginning to August  Sucess!

Start at 0915, up to the saddle by 1000. The scramble/climb took about 35 minutes up and 45 minutes. I'm of the opinion that it peaks at 4th class, some would say it's just 3rd. We went up the gully on the southwest backside. Great views of Rainier with the glaciers very visible, proud of Carl and Michaela! 3 hrs C2C.

Classic scramble  Sucess!

This is a great little scramble for anyone who goes up to Pinnacle Saddle and is looking for a little more. The views on a sunny day are unmatched.

Pinnacle and Plummer  Sucess!

Great little scramble, felt it to be closer to class 4 due to exposure and some sketchy downclimbing on loose rock.

Looks like a pinnacle  Sucess!

Have led inexperienced guests up the southwest ridge several times. Agree with others that it is class 3, but careful footing is essential due to the exposure and loose rock.

Peak 3  Sucess!

of three, that day with Maddie. The only somewhat technical peak of the day, and more fun than Plummer or Denman. A guy on the way up told us it was going to be class 6 or 7. We had a good laugh. Fun climb with a good amount of exposure for how short it lasted.

Good peak but don't believe the hype  Sucess!

The main page says the "easiest route is Class 4" but that is not at all accurate. There is definitely Class 3 on this peak, with a lot of slopes with loose pebbles, but most moderate-to-experienced mountaineers should be OK if they just take some time to look for the best holds. Even more care should be given to the descent. Great views from the summit and highly recommended.

Re: Found phone

Hey, that could be mine. I lost it in the snow a while back and along with it some great pictures.

First Trip to Pinnacle  Sucess!

This was the first climb of a two peak weekend. We went with a Mazama's group and did the East Ridge. Great approach trail and a fun rock route. Rappelled down the west route to the return trail. Looking forward to going out there again. Zero snow except for a small patch here and there along the edge of the trail.

November  Sucess!

Awesome day trip! Stevens Canyon Road was closed due to snow, so my friends and I parked at Narada Falls and took the 1.5ish mile trail to Reflection Lake. From there, we followed the Pinnacle Saddle Trail. Once at the saddle, we hiked to the top of Plummer, and then scrambled to the top of Pinnacle. Looking at Pinnacle Peak from the top of Plummer, I didn't think that it would be wise to try the Pinnacle scramble without ropes. We decided to do it anyway, and it wasn't nearly as bad/exposed as it looked from a distance. Lots of fun, spectacular views! We arrived at the parking lot around 9AM, and were home (near Tacoma) by 4:30PM.
