"So I was sitting in my cubicle today, and I realized, ever since I started working, every single day of my life has been worse than the day before it. So that means that every single day that you see me, that's on the worst day of my life."

From Seavey PassDay 3 of a backpack out of Virginia Lakes. I went up some nasty chute south of the summit, and came back down the third class chute just to its north. Trip report.

From Seavy PassMostly followed Secor's directions from Seavey Pass, except instead of following "the crest of the ridge to where it ends against the east face of the peak", we climbed almost to the crest then took a contour line south around the last hump on the crest. From the "small flat bowl" we took "the chute on the right", as shown in Holliman's photo attached to this page. Had to use my hands occasionally for climbing, but there was no exposure. I'd rate this approach Class 2, not Class 3.

SE SlopesUltralight overnighter out of Twin Lakes. From bivy at Rodgers Lake went to Benson Lake and left the PCT at ~8400ft. Climbed The SE slope to the notch in the NE-ridge. Used the ledge system through the NE face to gain the summit plateau. Hiked out through Kerrick Canyon and Peeler Lake in rain and snowfall. Beautiful fall colors. One of the most beautiful areas in the Sierra.
