Finally!  Sucess!

Climbed the last two summits of Olanger Köpfe on which we adn't been. However, this happened almost by accident as we had intended a route in the Sexten Dolomites, which were covered in fog however. When driving down Pustertal, we realized that Piz de la Perez and Dreifingerspitze were free of clouds so we drove to Furkelsattel and climbed both mountains in one go. Not perfect weather but much better than it had seemed in the morning.

Long ago  Sucess!

The day before I had hiked up from Bruneck to Kronplatz. There was a refuge just below the summit, and by the start of July all refuges in Italy are open, or so I thought. Alas, this one was not. I considered my options, then decided to descend on the east side of the mountain, hoping to find a place to stay before I got all the way down to Olang. I ended up at Berggasthof Trattes (1539m). I received a friendly welcome, good food and had a warm nice place for the night. To be recommended if you plan to explore this part of the world.

Located quite close to Piz da Peres meant that I didn't have far to go to get to the summit the next day. It still turned into a long one though, for I continued all the way to the Senes Hütte.
