A grand traverse  Sucess!

we did the traverse from Diavolezza to Rifugio Marco e Rosa. It was that special hot summer 2003 and we were lucky: it was one of the last days that year that a huge snow brigde leading over an ever huger crevasse was intact. The crevasse blocked the whole Cambrena ice fall and some days later the route was officially closed because the snow bridge broke down.
I was impressed by the huge crevasses on the Palü main summit. A great and thrilling traverse, to be recommended.

Re: A grand traverse

I remember that it was hot that summer ... but perhaps that was because I was in Greece around that time ;-).

West - East  Sucess!

With Hermann as our guide, the four of us traversed from west to east. We left at 6 in the morning from Rifugio Marco e Rosa, and arrived at Berghaus Diavolezza between 2 and 3 in the afternoon.
We made good time to the summit of Palü, but after that we had plenty of breaks to enjoy the scenery.
