East Ridge
Stuck to ridgeline as closely as possible, lots of fun on upper portions of class 3 but soon turned into class 4. Near the very end, traversed climber's left into one of the gulleys to top out and took same gully down -- which was easy 3 and loose 2, probably the standard way up.

East face
from Long Lake, after bagging Lookout Peak. It's a decent climb, but mostly class 2 unless you venture out onto the ridges; and the rock isn't as solid as it is in other parts of LLV. Summit pillar is cool.

East Ridge
A quality scramble up the east ridge. The upper third is where it's at -- great climbing. Slogged down the SE side and then crossed back over the ridge halfway down to return to Ruby Lake.

July hike
Lunch at Ruby lake then climbed up to Star.
Great day out.
Fresh from recent snow storm (early season storm). Took slight variation to gain the east ridge which resulted in some 4th class in the snow. Great scramble, staying on the ridge as much as possible provided some very fun 3rd class climbing.
Intended to continue onto Mills, but there was a fair amount of snow and this would have taken too long.

East Ridge
36 hours after a snow storm, this was a spectacular ascent adorned with the spice of 18" snow drifts, verglass, and perfect weather. Most excellent long scramble! But why the hell are there 2 summit registers?!
Climbed on the way to a traverse to Mills. Fun scrambling near the top. Trip report.

From Little Lakes Valley..
Probably one of my very favorite day hikes from Little Lakes Valley, the East Ridge is a fun scramble to the top! The view of BCS, Dade, The Hourglass, and Peppermint Peak are just spectacular!

Kind of scary
Traversed from Mono Pass to the summit. Slightly scary. Had intentions of the rock creek traverse but felt lazy and called it a day.

Ruby-Mills Traverse
With Bob Burd. Up the East Ridge and then along some of the best ridge work that I've ever done (this only one week after the Palisades traverse).
