Nice hike/jog
Good views from the summit, although I could hardly name a single peak of the dozens from the HPS List that are no doubt visible. Pleasant jog down the trail before heading off to do the Iron-Roundtop-Granite-Rabbit loop in the evening.

Route Climbed: Trailhead from Markham Saddle
After summiting Markham and Lowe I doubled back and nailed San Gabriel Peak and Mount Disappointment. I arrived at the summit the same time as a Korean Hiking Club. Have seen them many times and many places in the San Gabriels. Views south were hazy but views north of the Midrange Mountains were good.

Peak roundup
Nice trail connects several peaks in this area. Lots of good history about these peaks.

6 in a day
Did a bunch of HPS peaks that day. Lowe, Deception, Dissapointment, Markham, Occidental, etc. Fun day to knock off a few on the list. It's quite prominent on the horizon from Griffith Park and LA.

HPS Roundup
How many HPS peaks can one climb in a day? Apparently quite a few. This area is loaded with 'em, probably due to the proximity to the homes of the HPS founders in the 1950s. Trip Report
Can't remember when, but hiked this one in stormy weather. I think I went up the trail that starts at the Disappointment Peak Road, a little ways up from Red Box RS.
I've hiked and run the two main trails leading to the summit numerous times. These two trails are good running trails; well maintained and not too steep.
