Scwartzenkopt/Hollentorkopt  Sucess!

The original plan was to climb Alpspitze, but the weather forecast was not good. Instead Kessler and I walked from Hammersbach to the summits of Scwartzenkopt/Hollentorkopt, which were lower. This turned out to be a good move because above above Hollentorkopt everything was socked in with clouds. It only rained a little bit on the hike up though. We rode the lift down from near the summit of Hollentorkopt.

great day

Very nice hike up the Höllentalklamm (open)and the Knappenhauser (closed), with a descent down the other side of the Hupfleitenjoch through a lovely meadow and then across a traverse with great views of Garmisch-Partenkirchen.

Skies were clear until noon, then clouds rolled in, took away the views and dropped some light, warm rain for a little while.
