Dumpster
Good day for a dumpster dive. First trip ever with Jake Robinson. Once we got the bikes out of the car, we noticed one of them was broken beyond repair. We pushed them up and coasted down. Haystack has a better view than Silo. WA P2k 97/144

Bike Ride
Rode my bike until I hit snow at 3600' right as it started to feel unrelenting. With a bit of walking around the top provides some nice wide-ranging views. Looks like there's active logging going on right next to the road in the mile before the turn at 2900. In addition, Weyerhauser has posted some pretty unfriendly signs. Probably best to get this one on a weekend.

Silo or Sihi?
First time I bicycled to this one, I took a wrong turn and wound up running out of time. Second time was a charm.
Kind of a cloudy day, so I decided to scratch this one off the list. I recently purchased an electric mountain bike, so I figured this would be a good test of its capabilities. I was able to get the bike right to the end of navigable road (4000') just as the battery was reaching its low voltage limit. A quick scramble up the south side of the "summit block" was not nearly as brushy as I had expected. No views to be had, but a fun ride back down made it all worth it.

Sunday Chore
Very dangerous level 5 avalanche danger with extreme whiteout conditions. Class 5 rotten Choss encountered on both summits. We got lost constantly and as the situation proved to be more intensely desparate I broke my foot and needed emergency medications to handle the pain and we barely made it out alive. It was worth it though, as there was a brief clearing where we could see Whitehorse and Glacier peak.
Just Kidding. It was pretty simple and easygoing.

Silo
We did this as a fall bike trip with a dusting of snow. We found a good way down but the ascent at the top was a very slow bushwhack. I think it took us about 45 minutes to go a tenth of a mile. But we made up for it by coasting down the last several miles of road on our bikes.

Silo But Not Solo
Michael, Josh, and I ascended Silo Mountain, and then Haystack Mountain on the return-trip. Silo Mountain has some steep/cliffy slopes, so we avoided those by backtracking slightly along the road and ascended/descended a northwest slope. Nice, brief, steep glissade on the way down, due to perfect snow conditions allowing us to do so. This particular slope would not have been recommended if icy, due to the steepness. No bushwhacking necessary for us, due to snow being on the peak as well as the rest of the summit approach above 2300' elevation.
