Thanks for the great picture! I took these pictures in 1974 when I was only 14 years old, and I was not the best photographer or documenter. The old photos have yellowed a bit, but your June one is quite dramatic. Thanks for the addition.
Thanks much for making it the sig photo. I really enjoyed reading the page. WIll have to go back and try to get this one again someday. You are right, its a long way from anywhere!
Nice page for this seldom visited peak. I was surprised to learn it's not in the Dannens' book, but it's true. However, it's a very good-looking peak. Thanks for posting!
One small detail: The entrance fee for RMNP is nowadays $20.
Thanks for the update, Brenta. I guess it shows how long it's been since I was there (2000). Also, if you noticed, I climbed it 31 years ago, when there was no fee, and it was no problem parking at Bear Lake, or Glacier Gorge for that matter. Thanks for the photo too.
Beautifully written page for a great mountain. Studied this one for a long time from Nakai Peak, back in April. I think this one can be done in the winter from the Green Mountain TH, however it would be tough.
Maybe they liked it too much and didn't want others visiting their mountain. After-all it is a remote peak for the Park. I think there is a lot of that kind of stuff going on in Colorado.
BTW, I love the shots from 1974. I was 4 years old!
Is it reddish? I thought it was yellowish, from sitting in a photo album for 31 years. I have tried to correct the color from other prints, but when I do, the color looks fake or enhanced. So for now, at least, it's the best I can do.

Untitled CommentThanks for the vote, Kane. It is remarkable that the Dannens did not think it worthy of including in their book.

Untitled CommentInteresting page about a remote mountain. Too bad the scanned pictures are so reddish.
