Little Dog + Summit Twofer
SW Ridge route up. Down the face. The morning was foggy but cleared up to a gorgeous, calm blue-bird day. No snow on route (uncommon for this early in season).
Start: 7:30am. Ridge: 9:30am. Little Dog Summit: 11:11am. Summit Summit: 12:35pm. Vehicle: 3:38pm.
We actually climbed a secondary SW ridge behind this one. We made our way into the creek basin north and west of the SW ridge, went straight up the ridge behind it heading NW, then had a nice walk to the summit after a harrowing snowfield crossing (it was early season). Nice route. SPECTACULAR views.
Great route description! The second step involves the most challenging terrain - however, the easiest route up was quite noticeable and provided safe passage around the steepest portion of the ridge. From there, smooth sailing to the top. Incredible summit views into some truly wild terrain!
