Sugarbush Ski Hut after Thunderstorm
After a wet and wild day we slid into this skiing hut for some shelter and some dry sleeping conditions. This shelter is located on the ridge between Mt Abraham and Mt Ellen in the Green Mountain National Forest in Vermont. The Long Trail makes its way in the open ski slope above the hut. Before going to bed, my hiking partner and I swatted hundreds of flies that were hanging on the expansive windows of the hut. We actually made a game of it and left with many bug guts all over. This was day 15 of 28 along the Long Trail.
