"Got tight last night on absinthe and did knife tricks. Great success shooting the knife into the piano. The woodworms are so bad and eat hell out of all furniture that you can always claim the woodworms did it."

Up There for the Second Time...I don't think I'll ever tire of the Black Balsams. Wonderful views on the way to Cold Mountain...

Art Loeb TrailThis has been one of my favorite hikes for a while. The trail out to Tennent is always amazing. The crowds you sometimes find at the summit never seem to go much further north either if you looking for more solitude. A great peak!

Route Climbed: Art Loeb Date Climbed: 2004 & 2005Did this one the past few times I was in the area. Last year we headed over the top and on to Shining Rock, which was a fun day hike.

Route Climbed: Art Loeb Trail Date Climbed: May 15, 2004We reached the summit of Tennent Mountain after making the side trip from the Art Loeb trail to the summit of Black Balsam Knob. It was a beautiful mid-May day characterized by crystal clear blue skies and magnificent temperatures. The entire hike was laden with views of the surrounding mountains.
The only drawback was that there were a lot of people on the mountain. This fact though did not detract from the overall pleasure of the hike.
