The Chute

The line in red shows the approximate route down the Chute. I posted this just to give a perspective on the route. No directions are needed as the "trail" is very well marked. Picture taken from the summit of MacRae Peak. IMHO - the Chute is the best Class 2 climbing on a maintained route I have ever been on in the southeast Appalachians. For a short period of time I felt like I was in the Rockies. The 0.3 mile "hike" between Attic Window Peak and MacRae Peak is a very fun scramble! Grandfather Trail Grandfather Mountain May 21, 2011
