Brave...!...that wouldn't quite be just my cup o'tea! That "Viech" just has a couple creepy crawly long legs too many for my liking...

Re: Brave...!You are telling me! I held it in my hand for several seconds, but then dropped it when I freaked out. My friend however wanted it on his head! He is from South Africa and maybe a bit braver than the rest of us...

Re: Brave...!Eric,
"Rest assured, no tarantulas were harmed in the filming of this SummitPost Route."
Ok, Hans...no way. I think tarantulas are neat to look at, but would not let one climb on me, as your friend did.
On night backpacking down in the Grand Canyon without tents, I left my sleeping bag to go take a bio break and, upon my return, in the beam of my headlamp, was a tarantula running around our uncovered sleeping bags.
Think I slept well that night?!?!?!

Re: Brave...!When I did the Grand Canyon, we took a lightweight tent only for fear of tarantulas...

Yikes! The only way I like seeing these is via pictures!...
Sarah, I'm pretty sure I would not get any sleep either.
Just thinking about one of these crawling on me is enough to give me nightmares...
