Awesome traverse  Sucess!

Wow, I´m the first to sign this climbers log.
I did the traverse with a colleague of mine in October 06. Pity it wasn´t good weather, lot of clouds and mainly fog so we hadn´t the breathtaking views there have to be.
Advantage of the foggy weather is you get more attention on the route itself.
The ferrata up to Kleiner Bettelwurf is not very difficult. There are some nice ledges to follow and some nice rockclimbing. Difficult parts of the ferrata are roped.
The traverse to Großer Bettelwurf is an interesting piece of mountaineering work. This ferrata has three very steep and exposed rockfaces and I missed my hareness and helmet for a little extra security. I didn´t bring them because the guide book said that it is not a difficult ferrata.
In my opinion it is not an easy ferrata and not adviseable for beginners. But it is a very nice one. Too soon the ferrata ends and you scramble up the last parts of the traverse ridge to the summit of Großer Bettelwurf.
We went down the normal route of Großer Bettelwurf, this is in its upper parts a sort of ferrata, too, but an easy one. Some chutes and ledges are roped so there are no big obstacles. Watch out for rockfall.
Great great Karwendel adventure!!
And the Bettelwurfhütte is a real nice mountain hut for an overnight stay !!!
