Well, these places are generally not that frequented, as you know from experience, every visit is a little expedition. There are good chances in the more popular ranges.

It reminds me a bit my only trip to Czarnohora and Gorgany many years ago, I still have to make it to the range you described. I hope we can soon roam freely across those borders, those restrictions seem so artificial and out of place. On the other hand dodging the guards gives it a bit more sense of adventure :)

Very interesting account. Thank you LukZem for posting it, as well as other interesting articles here. I will re-read it more carefully, as I am planning to follow the border hike to Mount Stih first from the Romanian side, and then from the Ukrainian side.

Valuable accountThanks for sharing it. The border-guard issue correlates well with what I have read from Hungarian trekkers.
