Nice Snowshoe Outing  Sucess!

Natasha, Emily, and I wanted to get outdoors for an attainable snowshoeing summit trip. The south peak of Mount Lillian was not our first choice, but it ended up being a great destination. It was supposed to be a day with low avalanche danger, but there was several feet deep of loose powdery snow which could have been potentially dangerous on steep slopes. Fortunately for us, the direct snowshoe route for Mount Lillian involved very little/minor sections of steep slopes, and none of those were open slopes. A GPS device was essential due to low clouds blocking views of surrounding ridges and areas. The wind at the summit was something to behold! We will get a better peak next time, but this was still a lot of fun and it is yet another peak on the "Back Court" list.
