Yes, that was a funny incident. I still smile when I remember the look on that gal's face when she found out it was me and those "crutches" were trekking poles

You mean they aren't crutches? I don't know about you but I use my trekking poles as crutches. Nice one Dean!

You have a good "point" there. Of course, you also use trekking poles as jousting weapons on
people who give you static while hiking up a mountain so in your case, trekking poles have multiple uses : -)

Dare I say ...

You could remove the snowshoes, lash them onto
your pack, and do a "sitting glissade" back
down to your waiting Toyota Tacoma.
