La Concha
Climbed from the village of La Concepción on what has become the standard route, with a permanent park office at the bottom. The bottom 900 meters is a pretty ascent through various forest zones, some pretty heavily populated with howler monkeys. Howling winds replace howlers above treeline. Awesome views.

Altagracia Route
Took the earliest chicken bus from Santa Cruz to the trailhead (a big brown sign a few km before Altagracia), hiked up from there in a few hours on a steep but pretty obvious trail (no guide). Summit was cloudy, but we did get a couple of glimpses of the lake. The ground near the summit was really hot - this is an active volcano!!

Foggy and cloudy day
Ascended from Moyogalpa. Rainy and foggy ascent. Minimal visibility. Really fun climb!
