Wanda Rutkiewicz
Wanda Rutkiewicz (Plungė, 4-2-1943 – Kangchenjunga, 12 or 13-5-1992) was a Polish mountaineer, the first woman to summit K2. She also climbed Everest, Annapurna, Cho Oyu, Nanga Parbat, Gasherbrum I, Gasherbrum II and Shisha Pangma. She died during an attempt to climb her ninth 8000s, Kangchenjunga.
