2nd time
With @montanalex and @emilyhallemily for their first summit of Gould. Much better weather and views this time for me!

My Final Logan Pass Summit
The view from the top was fantastic, even so this is probably my least favorite of all the Logan Pass area mountains. Way to much loose rock for my taste. Even with no one above us, the mountain kept attacking throwing big tumbling rocks our way.

Northwest Ridge Route
...and not on purpose either. I thought I had read that the easiest way up was to proceed to the westernmost edge of the mountain, so I went all of the way around the corner and up. Sheesh, it about killed me (and my kids desire to do another mountain in Glacier), as I am not in good shape. We started at the Weeping Wall and got back THIRTEEN HOURS LATER (as I said, I am not in good shape). Anyway, I took your advice and used a GPS to find the way back down. BIG help, especially since the last 90 minutes were in the dark.
I had a helluva weekend in 2005. We started at West Glacier on a Friday morning around 5:30 am. Hit the Loop trail up to Granite Park Trails cabin where my hiking partner had to be to work that morning. I met up with some folks and we set off to summit Gould. That evening I joined them for dinner and the next morning set off for a solo traverse of the Ptarmigan Wall Goat Trail (see Summit Post). I arrived in Swiftcurrent just before dark to join friends for car camping complete with wine and gourmet food.
