Zaplata

The ascent from Mače, over the ridge of Kozjak on Dolga Njiva and further on to Srednji vrh is very rewarding. Here we are on the ridge of Kozjak, just after passing the small hunters hut. From the side we see, why the famous Hudičev boršt (Devil's forrest) is persisting on the steep slopes of Zaplata. There's a hardly visible bump, where the inclination is decreased, so conditions are met for vegetation to survive. In the distance is Kalški greben. Autumn, 2007.
