I recognized a lot: sleeping in the car, the crowds, the camping, the dislike of the cable car! Good idea to stop over at the Harz on the way down. etc. Btw, you can do it: move to Germany/Austria, it is easier than you think! :-) What can I say? "Life is too short to postpone living your dreams." Glad you were lucky with the weather!!
Thanks for commenting. I have been thinking about moving closer to the Alps and passing through Munich on the way to Zugspitze I again realized that you can live and work in a big city and still be close to the mountains. So I might have to consider moving south again. It's just too bad I work a company where the main activities outside of Denmark are in Doha, Dubai. Even less mountaineering there than in Denmark :)
You wrote a good story!
I often complain about my distance (6 hours) to the nearest parts of the Alps. But you are right: Denmark is a nightmare from this aspect. Some times ago I worked 2 years in Copenhagen, in Malmö and in Göteborg - and really I could find not any mountains around for the weekends
Hi Szani. Thanks for the nice words. In Göteborg you can find some walls (30-40 m) for climbing, but for mountaineering you need to drive some hours to get to real mountains in Norway. This is still better than in Copenhagen, but on the positive side the mountainbike singletrack network around Copenhagen just keeps getting better. We now have close to 100 km of good tracks close to the city.
from only 4 weeks ago, when I finally did this amazing route after having it in mind since long. Unfortunately weather conditions weren't by far as good as yours - cloud covered and partly rain except for some sunny spells right where they should have been, in the upper part.
Cheers
Reinhard
It is indeed an amazing route. I liked the variety of a lot. First the first, then canoyon, the a big open valley, a little glacier and finally a huge wall. And all that in just one day. Hopefully weather will be better if (=when) you go there next time.

Nice varietyI would do that in a minute! There is fun on coming up on a summit that has a tourist route, mixing with the masses, then plunging back into solitude.
