Route Description
First 3 miles or so are on nice trail as it switchbacks up the mountain. When you hit the meadow, the trail switchbacks left sharply. At this same point a fainter path heads south through the meadow. Ignore this, it's the path to Chutla Peak. The trail traverses the meadow and re-enters the forest until just near the saddle. The saddle is obvious as there is a small sign stating it's the end of the maintained trail.
Look left and head to the gully between two rock faces. There is a faint path that follows the ridgeline. When you come to a shallow gully with large roots growing down it, don't be fooled into climbing it. You can, but it leads to the 4th class rockface. Instead, look left for a path that bypasses the rockface and then descends to the bypass gully. It'll head left to the west side of the summit pinnacle and then Class 3 rock back to the right to a point on top of the 4th class rockface. From here, it's easy to pick your way to the summit maybe 50 yards north.
