Looking at the pictures I first thought it was some karstic area located somewhere in the neighbourhood of Slovenia ! :) A nice idea for future explorations of the Alps.
thanks for your great report, I had the pleasure to visit some parts of the Steinernes Meer area, approaching from different sides. Looks like there will be some more trips in the next future...
Thanks Michael! Yes your Schönfeldspitze route descriptions were the first reference, I must say more reliable than one description from Bergsteiger magazine. I have some more pictures, but didn't want to bore audience with all of them.
