A subsidiary peak of Dennison Mountain, Dennison Peak stands out in all southern aspects of its parent. At 7218', it is around 1500' lower than Dennison Mountain, and not accessible via any established route or trail.
Approaches are reached the same way as the Southern approaches for Dennison Mountain. East and West direct ridge routes are begun from Blue Ridge Road and FS route 19s09, respectively. The bushy 4wd track that departs from the former can be left early and, heading NE, one may begin the SW ridge ascent. Route 19s09, to the East, may be departed from after 1.3 miles, crossing Backbone Creek and heading up the relatively smooth E ridge.
