Beautiful fall day
Loved the wildflowers and views on this hike. Saw a few bears in the distance... meanwhile one was rambling through town! Note: a gentleman slipped on a root and broke his ankle on the trail - we and an Australian couple helped him down to safety. His planned stop in Sitka looked out of the question :/

A Better Way
I started out on the Race Trail and quickly found myself precariously hanging over the edge of a cliff pulling myself up by tree roots over loose dirt and rocks. Not having fun I went back down and found a loose gully with a culvert coming down it. This looked lousy as well so I went looking for an easier way and then I found the Jeep Trail. Much better! I rushed up and down in 95 minutes because I had a boat to catch.
