Lodewijk ...The reason why this view is famous in America is because of the Oscar Award Winning Movie of 'Forrest Gump!' During the movie, actor Tom Hanks is seen running along this lonely stretch of road. (That was a clue for the American public to start running or riding bicycles more, instead of driving the gigantic "gas hog!" I don't think it worked. Some things never change.

Re: Lodewijk ...Hi Larry, yes I saw forrest Gump multiple times, great movie! And yes I remeber the running-scene! It is a shame it didn't work! there are already too much cars etc on the road! especially in holland:one of the most dense populated countries in the world--> as a result too much vehicles! We should all ride bycicles!!
