Recovering After a Serious Accident

Recovering After a Serious Accident

Taken by Gimpilator on August 27th, 2014 on my third day of being in the hospital. I had a serious mountain climbing accident that I'm very glad I survived. Right now I'm at home finally allowed to use 1 1/2 hands to type. It's very likely that it will be a year before I am allowed to climb again. While it's sad in a sense, I had an amazing summer and am taking it well. I'll miss running and the physical difficulties I pushed myself through. But some day I will return to my realms of adventure. For now I have much writing to do.

Re: Hi Josh!

Still re-learning how to spell and such. Hopefully the head injury eventually goes away. My finger however is going to always be messed up. The good news is that I got some mobility back.

Re: All the best

After about three weeks I was allowed to lightly laugh and then eventually do full on laughing. My side puncture was not funny. ;-)

Re: Hey Josh!

Will have to wait it out a bit longer. Will have to ease my way into when the time is right.

You'll do well

Josh, I've been reading your posts for some time, and you have the spirit!

You'll recover well...this healing process is going to be a PITA, but just do your best to keep up the positive attitude in the weeks to come.

Re: A Mountain to Conquer

Thanks OlympicMtnBoy. I am very thankful to have survived such an ordeal. Still need to get on a better sleeping schedule to get back to church. My concussion however has been making me sleep a lot making it difficult to get up at a good hour. Eventually I'll be back into the mountains. I already have been, but my injury has gotten worse since then. Mean while web work will keep me busy.

Best wishes

Good luck on your recovery. While incidents like that really suck, hopefully there's a lesson learned, & you certainly gain an appreciation for how good you've got it when not injured. Hope you heal quickly.
