Sassongher
The Sassongher stands out as a pillar of rock above Corvara and looks an impressive summit. From other angles, it looks a little friendlier but is still worth anyone's attention.
Originally, we had decided to get the bus to Colfosco and follow the standard route to the summit but at the last minute we changed our minds. Instead we walked from La Villa to take the route up the Val de Juel to the Forcella de Sassongher, rejoining the standard route to the summit. After this, we descended the standard route back to Colfosco and a bus ride back to La Villa.
A lovely day in anyone's holiday.
