Good basic information. Is this the peak just outside of Bariloche? There is also a ski area attached? I'm curious as I climbed a peak called Catedral in 1996. I hiked out of Bariloche along the lake road and hiked up to the top of a ski resort following the cable car route. It was beautiful on top as I remember but there was a revolving restaurant and related ski resort buildings. Is this the same area? Thanks and Cheers William
The place with the revolving restaurant is called Cerro Otto, just south of Bariloche. Cerro Catedral is a massif of sorts somewhat further to the SW but also with ski areas. The road does go by the lake initially but then switchbacks up to a place called Villa Catedral at the base of Cerro Catedral. On the bus it's half an hour so would have been quite a hike. Am currently integrating this page into a duplicate (http://www.summitpost.org/the-frey-cerro-catedral/518464) so if you have any good info or photos to share please do so on that page. Thanks!
There is not enough info on this page. It should have enough info to climb the mountain and the maintainer seems long gone. Hopefully someone can adopt the page.
Hi, there was a duplicate page here (http://www.summitpost.org/the-frey/518464) so because both accounts seemed like they hadn't been used for years I requested editing privileges and began integrating the information on your page into that one as it had more info as a basis to work from. Perhaps we can collaborate? Haven't done much in the way of technical climbing there so perhaps you would be interested in making some detailed Route pages about the different climbs you did? Cheers.
