In winter when there is some avalanche danger it is definetely better to climb Svistovy Stit by its eastern ridge (UIAA 0+) .

Route Description

We start the trip at Zbojnicka Chata chalet(1960) situated beatifully in the highest section of Velka Studena Valley among several post-glacial lakes .

Leaving the chalet follow blue marks 100 metres towards north-west after which, nearby the lake You meet coming
from the right yellow marks of one way route leading from Priecne Sedlo Pass .
We turn left still following blue marks getting to Zbojnicke Lakes(1958) in 10 minute time .
Going around grass-rocky moraine we enter to Diva Kotlina hollow, a typical mountain rocky wilderness .
Leaving blue marks and turning right we enter the hollow hiking inside higher higher by grass-rocky slopes .
The terrain becomes steeper just before we reach the ridge by which some time left to the main summit with characteristic steel box standing on it,
absolutely gorgeous High Tatra panorama .

Wonderful and not very demanding ski descent along the route of ascent .

In summer : mountain tourist equipment ,good hiking boots and waterproofs ...

In winter when there is no avalanche danger : ice-axe and crampons .
