Route Description
Close to the building Sorogain's lodging in the one that is the Center of megalithic investigation, begins a clearly visible track in the one that is prohibited the circulation of vehicles.
Soon we will distinguish to the left side GR's known signposting, characteristic of the Pyrenees (the typical marks of red and white painting) close to a few milestones of accumulated stones that indicate that we must leave the track and be still parallel to the little river of Sorogain, tributary of river Erro.
last ramp
The path is clearly visible across
Oria's nice forest, one of the most attractive natural sites of Navarre Pyrenees and is climbing in height little by little. Generally it is easy to follow the marks of painting in the trees though in days of fog it is necessary to have great attention in all the bends of the forest to not to get lost. We will come to the
Col of Agatun (1200m, 1h20min) in that we will have to flank the metallic fence. To the left side we have the final ramp that is hard with a difference of more than 200 meters without rest and that in winter can need the use of suitable material.
Time to summit: 1h 45min.
In the descent we can go to the other side of Col of Agatun to the
Mount Iturrumburu (1332m, 20 min from the Col).
Essential Gear
No technical requeriments. In winter crampons and ice -axe in the final ramp.
