Introduction

In September 2014 my son Keith and I travelled to Switzerland, where we met up with fellow SPer rgg. I will be posting a full illustrated account of what we got up to in forthcoming 'Alps International Expedition 2014', which I hope to have out in next two weeks. In meantime here is a foretaste of the first few days of the trip, which included two days on the Grand Aletsch Glacier, largest glacier in the Alps.

We didn't get to climb any summits on this mini expedition thanks to a deterioration in the weather, which dictated retreat. However, we did get to explore one of the most extraordinary bits of ice it has been my privilege to see - and one of the natural wonders of Europe.

Parents refers to a larger category under which an object falls. For example, theAconcagua mountain page has the 'Aconcagua Group' and the 'Seven Summits' asparents and is a parent itself to many routes, photos, and Trip Reports.
