Hruba Kopa, Tri Kopy

Overview

Tri Kopy and Hruba Kopa are regarded as separate peaks, but lie in the same ridge. Group includes the peaks between Smutne Sedlo on east and nad Zavratami: Prvá kopa, Druhá kopa, Tretia kopa - max elevation - 2136 m. Hruba Kopa is higher and has 2166 m. Led by the peaks of the trail is sometimes called "Eagle Path of West Tatras".

Getting There

- Rohačká Dolina starting point:
From Poland, cross to Slovakia at the road toll at Sucha Hora, to reach Oravice and Zuberec. From Slovakia, reach Zuberec via Zilina and Dolný Kubín.

- Žiarska Dolina starting points:
From Poland, from Krakow, prefer the border point at Chyżne. From Silesia, choose Korbielow or Rajcza/Novot. Reach Dolný Kubín and circumvent Tatras. From Slovakia, via Dolný Kubín and Liptovsky Mikulas.

Red Tape

You are in Tatry National Park.
In Slovakia, the trails are open from 15th of June to end of October.
You can`t camping here, should walk only on marked trails.
No dogs, on open fire.

Camping

You cant camping in tatras, nearest campings are in Habovka, Oravice, Pribilina. There are mountain huts: Ziarska Chata - in Ziarska Dolina and Tatliakova Chata and Zverovka in Rohacska Dolina.

Routes

To go through Tri Kopy and Hruba Kopa, you can begin from Smutne Sedlo - from Ziarska or Rohacka Dolina, and go to west by red marked trail.
You can also go in the opposite direction - from Banikov
This trail is a little harder than the typical routes of Western Tatras.
In places, light climbing insured chains, something like Via Ferrata, but dont need special equipment, without problems for good hikers
