Hinterthal...

...is a small village at the beginning of a beautiful alpine valley situated close to the well-known resort of Maria Alm at the foot of the Steinernes Meer and 14 kilometers (approximately 9 miles) east of the larger town of Saalfelden. It is an excellent starting point for hikes to the peaks and the awesome high plateau of the Steinernes Meer ("petrified sea"). Brandhorn (2610m) and Wildalmkirchl (2578m) rise right above this valley. On the right-hand side of Hinterthal is the Hochkönig group, with Hochseiler (2793m) dominating the valley. I was in Hinterthal on a day of perfect weather which allowed me to capture some very good and clear "frog perspective" views...

Parents refers to a larger category under which an object falls. For example, theAconcagua mountain page has the 'Aconcagua Group' and the 'Seven Summits' asparents and is a parent itself to many routes, photos, and Trip Reports.
